Last time I went I remember there was no Vernors ginger ale. A couple of other favorites were missing too. What snacks from the U.S. can't be found there?

  1. Why would you go to El Salvador to enjoy US snacks?  Give fried plantain chips a try.  Try both Coke and Pepsi, you'll see that they taste different than those from the US.  Try the local Ginger ale.  It is much stronger in flavor, and has a bite.

Many snacks are tailored to a certain geographic area, and even in the US you'll be hard pressed to find some items throughout the country.

Cactus Cooler was one of my favorites growing up, but they don't carry it where I live now.  No one's heard of it.

As there are thousands upon thousands of snacks in the US, it is impossible to tell you whether they have those same snacks in El Salvador.  There might be a variation of the snack, but if you are looking for a specific brand, chances are, it may not be there.

  2. I agree with the answerer above me!  Enjoy the Salvadorean food.  I always like Colachampagne and pupusas together.
