Hard to keep wickets against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Adnan-Akmal-c42042 – Cricket News Update
The Pakistani Test wicketkeeper, Adnan Akmal, has revealed that he finds it difficult to keep wickets on the bowling of off-spinner, Saeed Ajmal and said that he has had to work very hard on his game to be able to do so.
Ajmal is considered as one of the best spin bowlers in the current era as he is equally effective in all the three formats of the game. The off-spinner from Faisalabad is amongst the top three bowlers according to Test, One Day Internationals and T20s rankings.
The spinner played the lead role in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/United-Arab-Emirates-c3033 (UAE). Ajmal bamboozled the English batsmen on the first day of the match and picked up seven
wickets in the first innings, which broke the back of the English team. He is expected to play a big role in the remainder of the series as well.
Adnan had a Test to remember, as he did not drop any catches and scored a valiant half-century when the Pakistan team needed the tail to wag.
However, the wicketkeeper had no qualms to admit that he found it tough to keep wickets on the bowling of Ajmal.
The wicketkeeper said, "I had some trouble keeping on Ajmal's doosra. I worked with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Chaudhri-Ijaz-Ahmed-c50531 [fielding coach] and the drills helped me a lot. It's a bit different and difficult to keep off him. I've practiced a lot and every time I keep wickets I watch
his hand. It is only after a lot of practice that I am doing better on his bowling."
Ajmal’s bowling actions was questioned by some in the media, but the Pakistani coach http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohsin-Hasan-Khan-c77595 was quick to dismiss any suggestions, labelling the accusations nothing but rubbish.
"I'm not worried about the comments regarding Ajmal's action and neither is Saeed. You do find some people in the media who try to create a few unwanted things which should be kept away from cricket,” http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohsin-c77587 said.
The second Test match of the series starts in Abu Dhabi, on Wednesday, 25 January, 2012.
