Hard work will be the key to success in India, feels Alastair Cook – Cricket News Update
England’s newly appointed Test captain, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/AN-Cook-c1026, believes that hard work will be the key to success in his side’s ongoing tour of India and admitted that the Poms have not been at their best over the last 12 months.
Under Andrew Strauss’ captaincy, England became the number one ranked Test team of the world in 2011, after thrashing http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 at home by a comprehensive margin of 4-0. The Poms however, failed to follow up their good performances as they were whitewashed by

Strauss and company levelled the battle in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 at home but failed to match South Africa’s brilliance, losing the number one ranking as a result, which led to the left-handed opener’s retirement from international cricket.
Cook, who succeeded Strauss as http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013’s Test skipper, knows that the side has not been doing well recently but the 27-year-old cricketer has immense faith in his team’s abilities. The gutsy left-handed batsman urged his teammates to raise their game and
give their best in tough conditions.
“Clearly, over the last 12 months, we haven’t played as good a cricket as we had done in the last two years leading up to that. Well, it’s not all doom and gloom - we've got a fantastic squad. It’s going to be a lot of hard work like for any side in international
cricket,” said Cook.
The http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Essex-c783 batsman completely understands that beating India at their own backyard is not going to be easy for the Poms. Instead of looking for shortcuts, Cook wants his men to work hard, which is going to be imperative, if they have any chance of dismantling

He mentioned, “You work as hard as you can and there is never any magic formula. All I know is that it’s just a lot of hard work and I know that the lads are keen to do that.”
The four-match series begins on November 15, 2012, with the first Test at Ahmedabad.
