While my answer may not be "hip" enouogh for you, the hardest song (including intro. solo) I learned was "The Stone" by Dave Matthews.  Once I got to a certain level I never had much trouble with anything by Hendrix, the Ramones, Clapton, etc.  That one song by DMB though took me forever to nail down.

  3. Ok sunshine... you want a challenge... how about this: Try either "The Swan" by Camille Saint-Saens or "Prelude No. 1" by J.S. Bach or "the Theme from AUTUMN Op. 8, No. 3, Movement 1 by Antonio Vivaldi

    When you get those mastered... come back and ask for some more suggestions... shouldn't take you more than a  year or two if you are as advanced a guitar player as you say you are.
