  1. Flanker is man of the game! I love it! All forwards are good!

  2. It really depends on your strengths. Tighthead props have to be leaders in the pack and very aggressive on the engagement, while looseheads need to be immovable. Hookers have to have a quick foot while engaged.

Locks have it the worst, I think, just being in that kneeling position and having their heads squeezed between the front row.

Flankers have to be fast and able to get off quick and make the important tackles.

Eightmen have to have good communication with the scrumhalf/flyhalf, and be able to pick and go when it's necessary.

All in all, it takes everyone to be successful.

  3. Lock,requires a h**l of a lot of all-round athletism.

  4. Water Boy

  5. Tighthead prop. A crucial position to get an attacking scrum, and strength combined with technique is needed.

  6. I have played prop on both sides. I personally prefer tight head as that's where I started playing and thus learned my trade. I can't comment on the loose positions as I have never played there and I am not physically suited to loose forward positions. I played a couple of games as hooker due to injuries, and will have to admit at being hopeless in that position.

It doesn't matter what position in the forwards is the hardest, the pack has to work together in order to give the backs ball to knock on.

  7. I play 8 and love it.  I think flanker and 8man are the hardest forward positions.  You have to work like a forward and tackle the c**p out of everyone, but you have to be fast/evasive like a back because you will handle the ball more than most forwards (especially 8man picks).
