Question:

Hardly see many girls participating in Yu-Gi-Oh Tournaments

I've been watching quite a few videos of some Yu-Gi-Oh TCG Tournaments and I realized that the majority of contestants are guys, not that I see anything wrong with that, but from all the girls online who claim to like Yu-Gi-Oh, how come I hardly see any in the tournys? Actually, I haven't seen a single girl in a single video I've watched.

I know this may be a stupid question, but I was wondering why not so many girls participate in the tournaments and all.

And i don't want any comments saying it's because girls are weaker than guys. Since Yu-Gi-Oh isn't a game of strength or anything like that and has nothing to do with power. If someone can draw, they can win, it's all about what cards you draw and how you use them.

  1. Good question, I think the majority of the reason is because girls find Yu-Gi-Oh "Interesting but only fun to collect...." as a friend of mine puts it. It simply boils down to the fact that a lot of girls find Yu-Gi-Oh either offensive, strenuous, or only slightly interesting.

Besides, most of the characters on the Yu-Gi-Oh series -are- only guys. This might have a psychological effect, because whenever you hear about YGO you think of a guy. Maybe even a guy's game.

Of course, I'm not judging a whole populace or gender for the actions of  others! There can potentially be hundreds of thousands of female players all across the country, just not in tournaments. If that's the case, it might all be a simple matter of not having enough time to pursue an interest so far!

Ah well, I'm a guy..... what do I know xD. Would be nice if some girl player would enlighten us by answering this question! ^^
