Hardy Red leading the line-up for the Sterling Service Chauffeurs Maiden Stakes at Folkestone
The line-up of five two-year-old ready to break their maiden through the Class 5 Sterling Service Chauffeurs Maiden Stakes is dominated by Hardy Red. The race will be held at Folkestone over five furlongs on Monday, 11th June. The prize money
for the winner is set at £2,386.
Besides that an interesting entry who is still struggling to break through the maiden is Mr. & Mrs. Wayne Rooney owned bay colt, Pippy. None of the entries have raced at Folkestone before and are today attempting to clear their maiden there.
Having improved drastically through the two career starts is Hardy Red, Mujadil’s two-year-old bay colt out of mare, Salonga. His ranking in the career debut was seventh on a field of ten that went up to a second score by the time he took up the second chance
of the season.
He cracked into the racing career on 16th May in the British Stallion Studs/Premier Conservatory Roofs E B F Maiden Stakes at Bath over five and a half furlongs. He ended seventh as the race was won by the 2/1 favourite, Sir Prancealot.
His next try presented itself in the form of the British Stallion Studs Supporting British Racing E B F Maiden Stakes on 3rd June at Nottingham over five furlongs. Yet again he missed the race by its 4/9 favourite, Alhebayeb. Hardy Red did not
miss the race by a massive or disappointing margin rather the difference between the two was only a neck’s.
His progressive performance at each try has convinced the connections and the crowds that winning today is almost inevitable for him. His companion for the race today stays to be Fergus Sweeney. Third time together ensures a certain level of comfort and
helps Hardy Red’s chances today.
Two entries will race their career debuts today, Joey’s Destiny and Royal Mizar. Another contestant to look out for is Smiling Shark who ended fourth in the career debut on 25th May at Goodwood over five furlongs.
If Pippy can satisfy the connections after the third try or not is also being waited upon eagerly.
