Harman Kardon CP40 or Logitech Z5500?

I'm having a tough time deciding between these two as I have heard both at a store. The logitech is cheaper and has almost double amount of watts and then the harman kardon cp40. But the Harman Kardon sounds a little more crisp. I will be using this for my ps3 for games and movies, which would be a better investment? If you audio pros can tell me some pros and cons that would be great. Also is it possible to upgrade the speaker cables on both systems? The stock cables looked really thin and maybe a thicker cable would upgrade the sound quality.(tell me if im right or wrong)

  1. Hands down the Harmon / Kardon system.  One thing about Surround sound is Watt don't always mean better sound.  The factor you have to look at closely is considered the "THD" Spec, which is found on both of the sites listed.  The lower the "Total Harmonic Distortion" percentage is, the better the sound will be at high volume.  The "THD" rating on the Logitech is 10% as opposed to the H/K which is 0.07%  Big difference between the two. Go Harmon / Kardon! :-)
