http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfB-Stuttgart-c40879 striker Martin Harnik has put pen to paper on a new three-year deal to make sure he stays at the club until June 2016.
Austrian international http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Martin-Harnik-c24374 has extended his stay at Stuttgart for another three years by signing an extension to his current contract. The forward ended speculation regarding his future by committing to his current side.
According to reports, FC Koln were interested in securing his services considering Lukas Podolski’s imminent departure in the summer.
Harnik claimed that it was an easy decision for him as he is currently enjoying his time with Die Roten and is impressed with the club’s plans for the future. The attacker insisted that even if any other club was interested in
acquiring him, he would have chosen his current side as he still has to prove himself.

“It was not a difficult decision for me. Even if I had one or two other offers on the table, it was clear to me from the beginning that if everything was right with Stuttgart, then I would sign immediately,” he was quoted as saying
in an interview.
The Austrian international assured of his commitment to the club and insisted that he wants to prove his worth to the fans and the side. He admitted that if given a chance, he would love to end his career with Die Roten and help
them challenge for major honours in the future.
“I am totally committed to Stuttgart and the Swabia area. I have made the breakthrough here and now I want to take the next step and remain here for years to come. I want to improve and become more effective and play a bigger role
in the team,” he concluded.
Martin Harnik has finally found his rhythm this season after a pretty ordinary campaign last term and has scored six times in the Bundesliga. He is the club’s top goalscorer this term and has helped them to end the first-half of
the campaign in an impressive eighth place on the league standings table.
The striker had a previous stint with Bundesliga side Werder Bremen but failed to impress, scoring only one time in 17 league fixtures.
