Hi, i'm looking for a new bike and I was going to buy a Haro Z1 bike. I've read some reviews online and its like a good bike so far. So I think that im going to buy it. One problem is that I need to shange the sprocket to a smaller one. Its a 30 tooth sprocket I think. I want something like a 28 or a 25. Would I have to get a new back hub for it? And if I have to where would a cheap hub be? Thanks.

  1. any haro that arent ''pro'' (ex: haro forum pro) are good beginer bike's, the ''haro pro'' are for intermidiate.   so yea a haro is good beginer bike.

if you plan on changing the sprocket... it would be very very VERY recomended to change the back freewheel or simply the hole hub.

you are going to have to buy a new chain too. don't forget that, and if you buy a chain to fit a 25t sprocket, the chain won't be long enough for your (probably) 13t back freewheel. if you do decide to keep you back hub/freewheel and change the sprocket to a 25, you are going to have to buy a chain and add or take off some link's to make it either longer or shorter. to fit your lenght of your sprocket and freewheel.

if you do decide to change your back hub wich i would do if i bought a 25t/28t... buy a 9t hub/freewheel. and buy a chain that fit's that (usaly chain's always fit 25t. you you can simply cut the chain you currently have if you have a chain cutter.

buy your hub at  www.danscomp.com cheapest, and the best.
