Haroon Rasheed asks Sarfraz Nawaz to refrain from mud-slinging – Cricket News Update
Pakistan’s former Test cricketer, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sarfraz-Nawaz-Malik-c88831 to stop giving controversial statements against the former cricketers and try to work for the betterment of the game instead.
The former fast bowler has been quite a vocal critic of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) over the last couple of months and expressed that http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ata-ur-Rehman-c46580 and
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohammad-Akram-Raza-c76631 get jobs in the board.
Ata was recently appointed as the coach of the FATA region; whereas, Raza has been included in the umpires panel, although there were charges of match-fixing on the duo in past.
Sarfraz has always been considered as a controversial figure in Pakistan cricket, who never enjoyed smooth relations with his ex-teammates or the current players as well.
Rasheed, who is working in the National Cricket Academy Lahore, feels that being a former player and an ambassador of the game, Nawaz is expected to behave in a more responsible manner.
The former cricketer from Karachi is of the opinion that http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Stuart-Clark-c2591 should focus on training young fast bowlers, rather than looking for cheap publicity.
“I would suggest that he should act in a more responsible and mature manner and come forward to contribute positively for cricket development with his valuable experience instead of doing the mud-slinging,” Haroon expressed. “He is a senior cricketer and
should refrain from doing things which are harmful for his own reputation and compromise his own image in the eyes of cricket fans and general public.”
Despite being a controversial character, Sarfraz is one of the better fast bowlers produced by the country, having picked up 177 wickets in just 55 Tests.
Apart from Ata, Miandad also plans to send a legal notice to Sarfraz over his comments and feels that the former pacer must be wary of any judicial action taken against him.
"I can deal with him in two ways but I will only advise him the judiciary is free and independent now and if he says anything more I will take action," said the former Pakistan captain.
