Harrington wants to make his return at Kiawah memorable
Once again the biggest names in the world of golf are going to gather at the prestigious Kiawah Island Golf Resort, the Ocean Course, for one of the biggest golfing events of the year, the U.S. PGA Championship.
The event is going to tee off on the 9th of August and it is going to end on the 12th of August.
The players are going to give their level best to impress the fans at this tournament. Some are going to succeed while others are going to fail. One of the players who is trying to make a strong comeback at the tournament is Padraig Harrington.
It has been 15 years that Harrington won the world cup. In the year 1997, Harrington teamed up with Paul McGinley to give Ireland their first World cup victory after 1958.
Now Harrington will be returning to South Carolina this Thursday, to fight for the biggest major of the year. Now, Harrington is returning with much more experience and as a three-time major winner to win the major for the fourth time.
Harrington is going to try to give his best performance at the tournament so that he gets selected for the seventh time in the Ryder Cup team.
Currently the Irish professional golfer has much ground to make up to actually get selected. Only a victory at this major would ensure his place in the team for this year’s Ryder Cup.
Now on the 9th of this month, Padraig Harington would be teeing off with former U.S. PGA Champions, Phil Mickelson and American Ryder Cup captain Davis Love.
In an interview the 40-year-old said, “I'm delighted I'm playing so well tee to green. The game's been excellent, well under control - that's what I've got to concentrate on. I can't concentrate on something I haven't control over. I've just got to keep
playing my golf and be content that I'm playing well”.
Harrington seems happy with his form and is confident as he goes for the last major of the year. “There are positives, no doubt about it. I like the style of golf course, that's for sure,” he added.
