Harris praises Aussies’ team effort – Cricket News Update
Aussie pacer Ryan Harris lauded the team effort displaced by the tail-enders of his team’s batting order in their first innings during the first Test of the ongoing Frank http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Devi-Chand-Worrel-c53918 Trophy against the West Indies at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados.
“We've done it pretty much all summer so it was just very important for us to get out there and make runs today and get as close as we could to the total,” Harris said.
“And that's what we did. Everyone, Hilfenhaus and even Lyon, we all worked together and got us close.”

However, the beginning of the fourth day saw the Aussies at 248 for 5, with most of the top and middle order gone, but the tail-enders still managed to put forth a valiant display. While http://www.senore.com/Cricket/PM-Siddle-c2197 was unable to make much of a contribution (dismissed on

The lower order managed to get the team up to 406 – 43 runs short of the Windies first innings total, but skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Clarke-c51120 was confident enough to declare the innings.
“The declaration came at a good time,” Harris observed. “We'd spoken about it and we were probably going to give it three overs but we had that one over when we didn't score off and we didn't want to waste any more time. We just want to win the Test match.”
The decision proved to be a good one, as the Aussie bowlers, emboldened by their display at the crease, went on to demolish the Windies batting order. Hilfenhaus ripped through the top order, dismissing http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kraigg-Brathwaite-c71708 (0), and Kirk
Edwards (1) all before the 6th over, leaving the host team faltering at 4 for 3. Harris also chipped in with a useful contribution, eliminating the threat of Chanderpaul (12) before he had the chance to settle down.
The Windies finished at 71 for 5, and will resume the final day with an overall lead of 114. In their current form and mindset, the challenge doesn’t seem to be a particularly difficult one for the tourists, who will be looking to wrap up the hosts remaining
batters and get a perfect head-start in the three-match Test series.
