Harrison Cefalo conquers Men’s 100m breast-stroke crown: 2011 YMCA Long Course Nationals
Harrison Cefalo impressed the arena in the Men’s 100m breast-stroke final on day five of the 2011 YMCA Long Course Nationals in Atlanta, Georgia, on Friday, July 29.
The session of the race held the Men’s 100m breast-stroke meet, where Harrison Cefalo of Red Bank knocked out Rapid Area’s Matthew Hooper and Somerset Valley’s Sean Johnson with a winning time of 1 minute and 06.30 seconds. Hooper claimed silver medal with
an impressive time of 1 minute and 06.43, while Johnson grabbed bronze title with a sterling time of 1 minute and 06.44 seconds.
Jared Kauffman of Middle Tyger wound up fourth in 1 minute and 06.52, while Conner McHugh of Door Country hit the wall in 1 minute and 06.66 seconds to finish fifth. Colton Spark of Middle Tyger settled sixth in a time of 1 minute and 07.16 seconds, whereas,
Victor Luo of Somerset Valley finished seventh in 1 minute and 07.79 seconds. Graham Beck of North Shore settled eighth in a time of 1 minute and 07.85 seconds.
Meanwhile, Bill Young of W North Carolina snared the Men’s 100m breast-stroke B final with a winning time of 1 minute and 06.14 seconds. Greg Baliko of Fanwood Scotch was placed second in 1 minute and 07.74, while Louis Seefeld of Upper Main Line finished
third in a time of 1 minute and 07.87 seconds. Joshua Bjornberg was placed fourth in 1 minute and 07.99, whereas, James Logan of Ridley settled fifth in a time of 1 minute and 08.23 seconds. Jonathan Rutter of Powel Crosley wound up seventh in 1 minute and
08.41 seconds. AJ Burt earned eighth spot in 1 minute and 08.48 seconds.
The Men’s 100m breast-stroke C final was taken over by Upper Main Line’s swimmer, John Gartland with a winning time of 1 minute and 08.40 seconds, while Zachary Mabin of Hamilton Area finished second in 1 minute and 08.45 seconds. Jordan Berger of Wilton
secured third spot in a time of 1 minute and 08.67 seconds.
Subsequently, Elliot Penson of Shore Mill finished fourth in 1 minute and 08.74 seconds, while Greg Grewal of Lionville settled fifth in a time of 1 minute and 09.06 seconds. Sam Apa of West Shore captured sixth spot in 1 minute and 09.09 seconds. Andrew
McCollister of J.F. Hurley wound up seventh in 1 minute and 09.12, while John Om was placed eighth in a 1 minute and 09.39 seconds.
Steven Mckee of East Hartford wound up ninth in a time of 1 minute and 10.44 seconds, whereas, Mckee’s team-mate, Jonathan Frank earned tenth position in 1 minute and 10.78 seconds.
