  1. Harrods is huge and over 8 floors - great for just wandering around but quite expensive to buy anything.  Selfridges is huge but you're more likely to buy things there as they don't just have designer things.  Also Selfridges is next to all the other shops on Oxford street.

  2. Selfridges no question. Old and stuffy or fun and style? Shopping or tourist?

  3. Harrods

  4. I like Selfridges better--lots of variety but much more manageable and less snooty than Harrods.  If I just have limited time to shop, though, I enjoy Fortnum and Mason's on Picadilly for their food hall, beauty items, and decorative bits.

  5. Harrods.  Some parts are like a museum - go and look at the art section, and they also have giant fossils and things!  And you can BUY them (for a few grand)

  6. harrods don't sell fridges

  7. It depends what you are doing, If you just want to have a look and like all items then Harrods is the place for you as it is much more touristy than Selfridges. Selfridges is mainly clothes but does have a food hall and technology areas and loads more. If you are wanting to buy something and have alot of money then sure go to both but I prefer Selfridges, less crowed (men's floor that is) more clothes, classy, in the center of of town. If you are buying anything from the shops you will need a fare few penny's. They are both worth a look though!

  8. Selfridge's is better-fashion wise and easier to navigate around.

Harrod's is very cool though, you could spend a whole day in there! They have the coolest toy department, a pet store, and yeah pretty much everything.

  9. they both import the same stuff

  10. are you looking to buy or just visit a London landmark? Selfridge's offers better value but Harrods is one of those places that you need to visit just once to be able to say youve been there.

  11. They are both good but harrods is a bit more fancy

  12. I went to Harrods last week and it was like a jumble sale. It's really gone down hill. So, Selfridges.

  13. Selfridges has lots of stuff, but if you can only see one it would have to be Harrod's... its an amazing shop.

  14. there both good to pass through to get into the trafford centre

  15. Both are worth a visit.

  16. Harrods for tourism, variety and sheer amazing size, but definitely Selfridges for actual shopping! (and Harvey Nichols if you are looking for designer clothes!). The great thing with Harrods is you can keep going back and discovering entire floors you never knew were there, things like the piano room, the pet shop, etc. I just cannot believe that Macy's is said to be bigger - it certainly doesn't feel like it!!!

  17. oh gosh these are a little expensive maybe you should try some other shops such as Netto, Aldi - spend a little, live a lot. lidl, morrisons, b&m bargians, pound zone/world, salford pricenct, and everybodys favourite asda :)

  18. Selfridges no question

  19. Both are excellent department stores here in London.

Please note that Harrods operate a dress code - smart casual is fine but not shorts and scruffy trainers.
