  1. So that if Harry accidentally breaks into Snapes defenses, that he wouldnt see things Snape didnt want him to see!  And Harry did accidentally break into Snapes defences when he saw two parents arguing, and a boy (snape) hiding in the corner.Imagine if Snape hadnt taken memeories and oput them into the pensiev, what Harry might have seen. His mother perhaps. Which would have caused awquard questions!

  2. So Harry wouldn't get know that Snape had been in love with Harry's mother, also he didn't want Harry to see certain memories that were either embarressing or very personal to him.

  3. Remember how Harry soon got into Snape's mind?

    Yes, that is why.

He took certain memories out so if that would ever happen, he would not be humiliated or embarrassed or anything.

  4. So Harry couldn't see them.

  5. So Harry wouldn't find out about Snape's past.

  6. Maybe he was embarassed by what had happened and didn't want anybody to see it, or maybe he didn't want Harry to get any ideas.

  7. because there were certain memories that Snape wanted to keep private. everyone has thoughts that they'd rather not share with anyone else.

  8. So harry wouldn't find out about him and his mother

  9. Because he didn't want Harry to see all of the times James Potter and Sirius Black picked on him. Those are probably all of the memories he extracted and probably alot of the ones involving Lily that Harry finally saw in Deathly Hallows.

harry was already pissed off enough in OOTP. He probably would not have taken it lightly if he found out that Snape was in love with his mother that year too.

  10. Cos he is an evil and unkind evil G--I--T

  11. He didn't want Harry to see those memories. He put them in the

penseive in case Harry accidentally broke into Snape's mind, as he does manage to do on page 592. Harry realizes why Snape puts the memories there and explains on page 639.
