  1. NOO! I thought it was coming out this year! d**n it....

& yeah the ovbious answer to your question is more mula.

  2. There's multiple reasons, one being the recent screenwriters strike from February. Another would be the fact that they think that summertime will give them a 40% profit increase. My personal guess is that, for some inexplicable reason, they feel that they're competing with the release of Twilight, which releases Dec. 12th. The dates are too close, and both movies are VERY highly anticipated, therefore creating an issue for the box offices. They don't want to risk another movie "stealing the limelight" and their potential profits.

I'm beyond furious. It completely sucks. I've read the entire seris, own every movie, and have RP'd this series since i was in grade school. This is a major downer. My best friend and i are ready to kill something.

  3. cuz of the writers strike.

  4. I heard on tv its because they want to get in on the summer movie craze... aka more money

  5. They want more money basically. Here's an article that will tell you the full story : http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/new...

  6. I heard that it was because they realised they don't have a blockbuster for next summer, so they're holding it back to use then.

No change to the scheduling of the one after that.

  7. They're not releasing the movie because they think they're going to make more money releasing it in the summer.  They also said the reason is because of the writer's strike which is freakin' ridiculous because Dark Knight made so much money, coming in second in history next to Titanic.  They have enough money!!  The movie is also FINISHED!!  The guy has seen it himself and said it's great!  Everything is ready, it's just about them trying to make more of a profit.

And it's NOT because of Twilight.  Yea, it has a big following, but ONLY in America or if it is international, it is certainly not as big as HP.  It lacks HP's substance and writing.  HP is WORLDWIDE, a massive fan base.  They are going to regret moving this back because almost all fans are talking about boycotting their movies and products and not seeing it on the opening week.  Alongside sending them letters, emails, and signing petitions.  Do this too if you want to change it back!

This isn't about not seeing HBP on time.  This is about big movie industries thinking they can do what they want to fill their already over stretched wallets at the expense of fans.  Show them that you won't stand for it.  We are the ones with the power.  If we don't go to their movies, they lose money.  Show them that we won't sit back and take this blatant disrespect they are showing to us fans!

  8. Warner Brothers has just announced that Half-Blood Prince will be delayed. The film will instead be released on July 17th, 2009. From the press release:

In making the announcement, Mr. Horn stated, “Our reasons for shifting ‘Half-Blood Prince’ to summer are twofold: we know the summer season is an ideal window for a family tent pole release, as proven by the success of our last Harry Potter film, which is the second-highest grossing film in the franchise, behind only the first installment. Additionally, like every other studio, we are still feeling the repercussions of the writers’ strike, which impacted the readiness of scripts for other films—changing the competitive landscape for 2009 and offering new windows of opportunity that we wanted to take advantage of. We agreed the best strategy was to move ‘Half-Blood Prince’ to July, where it perfectly fills the gap for a major tent pole release for mid-summer.”
