Question:

Harry Potter question? from 7th book?

When Harry and the team are 'camping' in 7th book, Ron lets them listen to this Potterwatch show, and Fred is participating in it. If I got it right, they guessed it was Fred only from his voice [might got it wrong, read it in English and I am not a native speaker]. Fred and George are mono-zygotic, or identical, twins, and even if in real the voices of mz twins differ, they are identical when hearing them on the phone, radio or any other mechanical device. So my question is:

did the author just ignored this fact, or did I get the part wrong and they decided it was Fred from anything other than his voice, or did they listen to some magical radio device that does not make the voices of mz twins identical?

And one other note: does anybody else thinks that Bellatrix is the most loyal of Voldemorts servants not because she likes power or anything, but because she feels kind of infatuation for him?

  1. they guessed that it was fred, from the way he was talking (his lingo, or the things he says).

i think that bellatrix might love the dark lord more than anyone else. because there a part in the book that said 'she said his name like a lover.' so yes you might be right.

  2. Ron's their brother. He's been living with them for seventeen years. I think he knows what each sounds like.

  3. Patterns of speech account for as much as the voice does. They may sound the same, but they both talk differently.

  4. I completely agree with Mikey (above).

For the second part, I think that she may have gone abit overboard with her dark methods in her early years.  And MANY of the good people and creatures wanted her dead.  So she may have decided that the only way to keep alive and safe, was to stay with Voldemort and make certain that she remains loyal to him so that she will get protection if she ever needed it.

  5. Well..like I have 2 best friends who are twins and I've known them for SO LONG. that i can tell them apart and they're identical. Ron and Hermione have known Fred and George for 11 years, and Ron has heard their voices for 17 years. I think that if you've heard someone's voice long enough you can tell them apart, whether they are twins or not. And Bellatrix definitely has a thing for Voldemort. I think she likes how much power he has in the magical world.

  6. Rowling probably never thought about looking up identical twins and their voices. Must be a mistake.

And OF COURSE Bellatrix loved Voldy. We all want the man we can't have...

  7. I can't remember the book well enough to be sure, but wasn't it because they knew where George was, like out cold or somewhere where he couldn't have been doing the show?

  8. Ron grew up with them.  Their voices may be the same, but their tone isnt.  Fred is the carefree one who always jokes.  George is the one who follows Fred.  The tone of their voices is just different.  Fred was being good-ol-Fred on the radio, so it was pretty obvious.

Ya, Bellatix is the most loyal.  She IS in love with Voldy, which strengthens her loyalty.

  9. i dont think J.K Rowling thought about that fact, thats interesting
