Harry Potter release date pushed back - wtf??!!?

It was supposed to be Nov. 21st, now they are saying July 2009. Has anyone else heard this? This stinks!

I know, I heard! I heard it's because they don't want it to come out too close to the Dark Knight, as HP6 will probably also be a box office hit. I don't see why they have to delay it so much, though...this sucks!

Yes. This is true. The reason why Warner Brothers are doing this is for the money. They believe it will be a bigger summer movie than a holiday movie. I also believe that since it being released almost an exact year in front of the dark knight, the movie with the biggest opening weekend of all time and the number 2 movie ever, (also from Warner brothers) many people will go see a movie at the same time of year.

Ya I heard it last week. They want more money and I'm guessing they figured a summer slot would give them just that. Oh well now Twilight comes out three weeks sooner so I'm ok with it.

Hollywood is a busine$$.  the mopvie would generate more $$$ in the summer than in November.

It's ridiculous. It's all about the money. WB thinks that if they release it during the summer, it will do better. I think they are seriously underestimating the Harry Potter fans. I'm pretty sure the fans would've seen it no matter what time of the year.

I know! I don't get why they did it, but I'm sure they have some reason. The only good thing that came from it is that the Twilight movie is now coming out on Nov. 21 instead of Dec.12.
