Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp has accused Manchester City striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mario-Balotelli-c23937 of kicking midfielder Scott Parker on the head deliberately during match on Sunday.
It was the Italian who converted the injury time penalty to give his side a 3-2 victory over third place Tottenham Hotspur. Thanks to Balotelli, Manchester City retain their place at the top of the Premier League table and continue on in hopes of winning
the Premier League crown.
Balotelli was brought in as a substitute and kicked things off by getting involved with Parker shortly after coming on. He appeared to kick Scott Parker on the head as the English midfielder was on the floor, even though the initial challenge was harmless.
Both commentators and Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp agreed the player should have been sent off for the harsh challenge and dangerous kick on Parker’s head. However, referee Howard Webb felt differently and Balotelli remained in the game.
Redknapp said in an interview after the match:
“What reason did he have to back-heel Scott in the head with his studs when he is laying on the floor? I couldn't see a reason for it. It is not a nice thing to do. It has no place in football.”
Redknapp was understandably upset over the challenge and what followed, including the fact that Balotelli was not sent off for what was clearly a red car offence. He felt the striker had made it a habit of reacting the way he did and deserved to be sent
off for that.
He revealed:
“Having looked at it, yes, I do (think Balotelli should have been sent off).
It is not the first time he has done that and I am sure it won't be the last.”
The English manager is right, Balotelli has already been sent off three times already in his career at Manchester City. While he managed to avoid the red card during the match, Redknapp was hopeful the FA would take some action against the Italian forward.
Redknapp continued:
“What happens now doesn't interest me. What is done is done. But I am sure they (the FA) will have a look at it. They must do mustn't they.”
