Harry Redknapp admits Tottenham midfielder Luka Modric would be able to play for Barcelona
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Luka-Modric-c22857 has been linked with a move to Chelsea, for nearly two months now. Despite the Blues having made a number of bids for the midfielder, with their last offer being worth nearly thirty million pounds, Spurs have gone
on to turn down the team time and time again.
Tottenham have been adamant on the fact that they are looking to hold on to Modric, under any and all circumstances and won’t be listening to any offers for the player. At the same time, the team is reported to be looking to land a couple of big names, in
hopes that it would convince Modric to stick around at the club and opt not to move out.
Harry Redknapp, who seems to be well aware of the situation, has gone on to state that despite the interest from the big clubs, he will not be letting go of his player. He also went on to mention that Modric was good enough to play for Barcelona, but he
still wouldn’t sell him to the Spaniards, even if they made an offer for him.
Redknapp is quoted to have said: "I can understand how Luka feels in all this"
"If anyone offers to treble your wages you'd be interested and Chelsea are a big club.
"Everyone wants Luka. Just ask [Manchester United boss Sir] http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604.
"Luka wants the chance to win things and he is ambitious. All I'll say is that we are too at Tottenham.”
Redknapp then went on to admit that the team was looking to make a couple of big name signings in order to try and convince the player to stick around for a little longer.
Redknapp then concluded by stating: "Luka wants to know that we'll be right up there challenging next season and we are working hard to bring in a couple of big signings that may convince him to stick with us. I hope so.”
Based on the manager’s comments, it seems highly unlikely for Tottenham to go on and sell Modric. The team has warded off almost every single one of Chelsea’s attempts to land the midfielder and unless a massive offer is made for the player, there seems
to be almost no chance of him joining the Blues.
Nonetheless, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 are more than likely not to give up on the player just yet and are bound to come in with a improved offer for the player over the course of the coming few days.
