Redknapp has come out and taken a very strange stance on his team’s defeat to Arsenal especially after Tottenham were in cruise control of the match up till the half time break when they had a two goal advantage over the Gunners
at the Emirates stadium. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 back into the tie just before the half time break when the home side netted their first goal of the encounter.
Redknapp’s men gave up their dominance in the match in the second half when Walcott and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380 ran rampant on the Spurs’ defence which looked shaky throughout the game. However it was uncharacteristic of Redknapp’s team
to give up their advantage especially after their form leading into the match. In the end, Arsenal ended up as winners of the North London derby by a 5-2 score line.
Redknapp said in his interview, "We seemed to buckle after they scored. That’s not like us; we don’t do that too often. At that stage, you had to fancy arsenal to win deep down. They were full of it in the second-half. I didn’t
feel comfortable at 2-0, to be honest. They were creating chances and I wasn’t exactly sitting there feeling comfortable. We were hitting them on the counterattack but we were camping deep in our own half and they were making opportunities.”
He added, "The momentum was with them at half-time when they went off to a standing ovation and you knew it was going to be very tough in the second-half. You’ve got to give the opposition credit as well. Van Persie’s goal was
amazing; he stuck it straight in the top corner. It was one of those days for us. We weren’t the same as usual."
