Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has claimed he believes it would be unfair to walk away from the London club to take up the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 manager job.
Since http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fabio-c13152 Capello resigned last week Harry Redknapp is by far the most popular choice to take over as the next England manager. However, Redknapp is currently managing Tottenham Hotspur, a side who are currently at third place in the Premier League.
Having beaten the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 for the top three spots on the English Premier League table, the Spurs are currently at third place. If either of the Manchester sides slip up in the last stages of the season then Tottenham Hotspur
will undoubtedly take their place.
Tottenham Hotspur now also stand a chance to qualify for UEFA Champions League football once again, which will once again give them a chance to compete against the best of Europe in the top European competition. Redknapp unsurprisingly does not want to leave
White Hart Lane any time soon.
According to the manager he was aware of the fact that he was the most popular choice to replace the Italian manager, but that did not mean in any way that he had to fill the vacancy. The Englishman revealed he currently felt it important to continue with
his work at Tottenham Hotspur instead of taking up a new challenge.
Redknapp said while speaking to reporters:
“I'd be a liar if I said I wasn't the popular choice. I know I am, it's been everywhere, in every paper every day.
But it's not an easy one. I have a good http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 and I work with good people and I have a good team. The fans have been fantastic to me. Just to walk away now, when we're in such a good position, it wouldn't be fair, it wouldn't be fair on Tottenham. I have
to really keep focusing on Tottenham.”
There is also the possibility of Harry Redknapp taking up the England job as part-time while continuing on as Tottenham Hotspur manager. Redknapp revealed he had considered the opportunity but did not think it was fair to either club or country in the long
run.
