Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has claimed he is uncertain whether midfielder Scott Parker will be able to feature for England in the European Championships.
According to Redknapp, the English midfielder has a problem with his Achilles because of which he might be unable to represent England in the upcoming Euros. around.
The English manager revealed Parker’s only treatment at this point was rest, something he will not be guaranteed if new http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 manager Roy Hodgson wants him on board for the European Championships. Hodgson is yet to announce his 23-man squad for the competition,
but Parker is expected to be part of it.
It has been three matches now that Scott Parker has been left out of the starting XI and it does not seem like he will be selected for the last match of the 2011-2012 season. Tottenham Hotspur take on Fulham in the English Premier League as they look to
finish at third spot on the table.
The Spurs are currently at fourth place on the Premier League table, a point behind third place Arsenal. If they secure a win and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 fail to get all three points, Tottenham Hotspur will realize their dream of a third place finish and Champions League
football next season.
The manager admitted that it would be difficult for Parker to participate in the pre-Euro training with the Three Lions’ which begin on 21st May.
Redknapp said while speaking to reporters:
“He's had a problem with his Achilles, I hope it's not going to get worse. It isn't getting any better. It's a long-term concern.
The way he is at the moment, he is struggling for fitness.
It's not a rupture but it is sore. It is bothering him. After tomorrow he will have some injections in it and we'll see if that can clear it up.
He's been carrying it a few weeks. Maybe the only cure is a bit of rest but maybe the injections might clear it up.
The specialist thinks it will clear up but it will need 10 days' rest afterwards.”
