Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has revealed he does not expect the Spurs to be doing any business in the winter transfer window, which closes down on Tuesday night.
So far the Spurs have only signed Yago Falque on a permanent basis and according to Redknapp that was the only bit of activity one could expect from his side in the January transfer window. Despite some top names being linked with the London side, the English manager is convinced his side will not be making any waves in the remaining few days of the transfer window.
The likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Junior-c20060 Hoilett and Loic Remy have been linked with moves away from their respective clubs and were even linked with the Spurs. Meanwhile, some Tottenham Hotspur players have also been linked with White Hart Lane exits, but Redknapp does not believe any significant activity will take place in the winter transfer window.
Redknapp said in an interview:
“I can't see an awful lot (happening). I will probably watch a game on Sunday but not with a real eye on anyone, although I'm not going to tell you which match.”
With players like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Younes-Kaboul-c37543 in his squad, Redknapp does not feel he is in need of reinforcements. The 26-year-old joined form Portsmouth in 2007 and has improved greatly since then. The English manager believes Kaboul could go on to be a first team defender in the upcoming months.
Redknapp prefers Kaboul after http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ledley-King-c21859 in central defence and revealed that was the reason why he had signed him when at Portsmouth and once again at Tottenham Hotspur.
He revealed:
“Kaboul has been absolutely terrific. That's why I signed him twice. He didn't have the best time when he was here the first time but he was only a young boy then.
I took him to Portsmouth. He was terrific there and that's why I really wanted him back.
He showed last night exactly what qualities he has got. He is terrific defensively. I haven't really had to work on him, it's more about making him believe in himself.”
