Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has sprung to the defence of England manager Roy Hodgson after the Three Lions faced an exit from the European Championships.

Redknapp claimed he for one was not blaming the manager for England’s somewhat poor performance against Italy. He felt his fellow English manager needed more time to settle in, after which everyone could expect better results.

“No-one's blaming Roy or anyone else, that's for sure. I mean he's just took over, he's going to have to get his own style of play, but we've got to start playing some football haven't we?”
