Harry Redknapp feels Joe Cole deal done
Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp believes a deal to sign Joe Cole may have been done already with Manchester United.
The England man has been released by Chelsea after the two failed agree on a new contract. Cole has been attracting interest from several clubs, with Arsenal, Man Utd, Liverpool and Tottenham in the frame.
However, Redknapp feels he may have signed for United. “I've got a feeling that it might have been done [for Cole to join United]. It wouldn't surprise me in the least. Joe's not wanted to speak to anybody and his people have been saying 'let's get the World Cup out of the way first,” said the Spurs boss.
Redknapp has spoken of his desire to bring the 28-year-old to White Hart Lane. The two worked together at West Ham when Cole got his chance to play senior football.
Reports suggested a few weeks ago that Cole had signed a deal with Arsenal, but now it is believed he has told friends that Old Trafford is his preferred destination.
Cole has not featured for England yet at this World Cup, with John Terry questioning England boss Fabio Capello’s decision not to play him.
