Harry Redknapp gearing up for a decisive encounter
Harry Redknapp has claimed that if Manchester United manage to defeat Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, the title race will be all but over.
Manchester United head to White Hart Lane still unbeaten in the current, 2010-11 season of the Barclays Premier League. They currently sit at the top of the League standings, with games in hand over the rest of their competitors. Right now, Tottenham are
eight points behind the leaders, and Harry Redknapp will be hoping that he can put a sizable dent in that lead come Sunday.
The Tottenham manager believes that the upcoming encounter is the biggest match of the season so far – one that might just decide the destination of the Barclays Premier League trophy. Redknapp claims that if United walk away with all three points from White
Hart Lane, they will go on to win the Premier League.
He said, “It's a game we need to win to close the gap on them. If they beat us they've run away with it (Premier League title) really. You're not going to claw back that lead.”
Arsenal, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 and Manchester City will all be affected by Sunday’s result. They will be hoping that Tottenham can end Manchester United’s unbeaten run in the League, otherwise, the Red Devils will be almost unstoppable in pursuit of their 19th
Premier League crown.
Redknapp said, “I think all those at the top will be hoping we can pull off the result, close the gap and keep everyone involved.”
He went on to add that anything less than a win would also bring an end to Tottenham’s title bid this season, saying, “If Tottenham want to win the league, we have to beat United. They keep winning but haven't hit the heights this season. Sooner or later
they will hit top form and then everyone will find themselves in trouble.”
All signs point to an exhilarating encounter at White Hart Lane on Sunday.
