Harry Redknapp looking to finalize http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Beckham-c10432 deal
Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has claimed he would love to sign David Beckham and is currently waiting for the MLS club’s response to the offer. The manager is anxious on getting the 35 year old back into the Premier league but has to wait on
LA Galaxy to grant permission.
Redknapp has the chance on getting Beckham on a short term loan till March, as the MLS season restarts in two months time. However, Redknapp has ruled out a permanent transfer for the former Real Madrid star, even if he becomes a top star in London.
"I haven't been to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/America-c38390 to watch him play. But it's not like when I was at Bournemouth and we took George Best. "We're not trying to fill the stadium, are we? You can't get a seat here anyway. "I just genuinely feel he could come here and do a good job
for us,” stated the 63 year old. The manager added that the decision to sign the 35 year old is not a commercial one but a footballing one, claiming that what Beckham would teach the youngsters is not available in the world.
"When you're looking to hit Crouchy (http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Peter-Crouch-c29741), if you're looking for someone to drop a ball on his head from set plays, free-kicks, corners, there's no-one better in the world."
"He spoke to my son, to Jamie, about it and that's how it all came about. Jamie rang me, said he'd spoken to David Beckham and would we be interested because he'd love to come and play at Tottenham. He just said, 'I'd like to come back and play and I'd fancy
playing for Tottenham, because I like the way they play'," claimed Harry Redknapp.
The decision is now in the hands of the American club, who wouldn’t want Beckham to suffer an injury similar to the one he suffered with AC Milan, which ruled him out for six to eight months. Beckham was interested in making his move permanent to Milan but
suffered the Achillies concern, which depleted his chances.
Beckham claimed that should he return to the premier league, he would only play for Manchester United, which Sir Alex Ferguson ruled out in his press conference. The player is now all set to pack his bags for Tottenham Hotspur, who would benefit from the
experience and skill of the player in a crucial time of the premier league season.
