Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp revealed he was aware that he had to keep his players fresh in the second half of the English Premier League to ensure they continued in the title race.
The Spurs were disappointed with a 1-1 draw against rivals Chelsea last week, which could have helped them catch up with league leaders Manchester City and second place Manchester United. Apart from that, the likes of Rafael van der Vaart and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Aaron-Lennon-c3062
had to be taken off during the match.
Currently, in addition to the aforementioned duo, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ledley-King-c21859 are also doubtful for the clash against Norwich City. Redknapp will be wary as the second half of the season approaches and most of his key players look to give
way to injury and unfitness.
Redknapp said in an interview:
“Managing the squad and keeping them happy is probably my toughest challenge. It’s not easy.”
According to Redknapp, keeping the team happy and fit was the most difficult thing for a manager. He revealed he was hopeful his squad would not stumble under the pressure that was bound to be upon them as the end of the 2011-2012 season approached.
He revealed:
“Younes Kaboul did his hamstring warming up on the sideline against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786. You wonder what causes it.
But you've got to try to keep your players fit now. You need a squad, you need to be able to change your squad around to keep some players fresh.”
His main aim now was to ensure his players remained fit and fresh for the upcoming matches. At the moment, Redknapp was looking forward to the clash against Norwich City, which would give his side the perfect chance to increase the point difference between
his side and fourth place London rivals Chelsea.
Redknapp revealed:
“Norwich have done fantastically. They have done really well and Swansea have as well.
But I'm sure they know that there have been lots of clubs come up and play very well first half of the season and they know they've got to continue that second half, for sure.”
