English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur confirmed manager Harry Redknapp was to leave his post as the club manager.
With just a year remaining on his contract, Redknapp was in talks with the club chairman Daniel Levy over a possible new contract. It seems the talks did not go to well as it was announced that the English manager had parted ways with the London club.
Redknapp was reportedly unhappy with the club’s management in their delay at offering him a new contract, which is why he is thought to have decided on an exit. Meanwhile, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-c9879 Levy confirmed that the decision had been really tough.
Levy confirmed that the English manager has left White Hart Lane with 12 months remaining on his contract. He admitted the decision to let Redknapp had been a tough one, but it was something that had to be done keeping in mind the future of the club.
Levy confirmed the news:
“This is not a decision the board and I have taken lightly. Harry arrived at the club at a time when his experience and approach was exactly what was needed.
This decision in no way detracts from the excellent work Harry has done during his time with the club and I should like to thank him for his achievements and contribution.”
The club’s chairman thanked Redknapp for his efforts with Tottenham Hotspur over the years and wished him the best for the future. Redknapp himself revealed he had a fantastic time with the London side and was sad to be leaving the club.
Redknapp said in a statement:
“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Spurs and am proud of my achievements. I have had a fantastic four years with the club, at times the football has been breathtaking.
I am sad to be leaving but wish to thank the players, staff and fans for their terrific support during my time there.”
