Harry Redknapp praises his side after a second consecutive comeback victory
Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp is all smiles after his side once again found a way to fetch a late victory after being down by a goal going into the second half.
Aaron Lennon's goal in injury time secured a 2-1 victory for Tottenham against Liverpool on Sunday 28 November, just one week after Spurs came back from two goals down against North London rivals Arsenal to win 3-2.
"They all showed great character, but to come back again is just amazing," Redknapp told
Sky Sports. "I’ve had teams in the past when you go behind and you might as well go home. With this team we come back, we keep going, there are goals, we are exciting and we are never out of a game. I think we
have the ability to always create chances, that’s for sure. Aaron’s (Lennon) back firing, he’s sharp again and he’s important. Overall I’m delighted with the performance."
Since losing to Bolton back on November 6, Tottenham are undefeated in their last four league matches and are climbing the league table and now see themselves just a point back of fourth place Manchester City.
Redknapp admitted that his side were lucky to be going into the second half down by only a goal, but believed his side put in a second half performance that was worthy of a win.
"They had one or two opportunities to go two up but we came back. Second half we went after them a bit better, but we had lots of chances as well, shots blocked on the line, missed a penalty, but eventually managed to
get the goal and a fantastic finish in the end.
"Aaron Lennon made a great run and won us the three points. They had good chances, we became a little bit disorganised. We had a couple of changes we had to make. Younes Kaboul came off and then Rafael van der Vaart so it
was difficult then, you’ve used two subs and you can’t bring another sub on even if you want too. So we had to go with what we had."
