The Tottenham manager has confirmed that Parker is sidelined with a serious Achilles injury which can keep him out of the 2012 European Championships in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ukraine-c3032 over the summer after the Premier League season comes
to an end...
Redknapp has confirmed that Scott Parker is set to be a long term concern for both Tottenham Hotspur and the English national team given his injury trouble. Parker who has missed the previous three Premier League matches for Tottenham
is going to miss their last league encounter on the weekend as well as the former West Ham United midfielder is having trouble with his Achilles tendon.
The defensive midfielder was at the centre of England’s win over http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Netherlands-c753 in February 2012 as well. It is now becoming
increasingly likely that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 will have to make do without Parker as the possibility of him returning to full fitness and taking the field for England at the 2012 European Championships look bleak.
Redknapp said, "He's had a problem with his Achilles, I hope it's not going to get worse. It isn't getting any better. It's a long-term concern. The way he is at the moment, he is struggling for fitness. It's not a rupture but
it is sore. It is bothering him. After tomorrow he will have some injections in it and we'll see if that can clear it up.”
He added, "He's been carrying it a few weeks. Maybe the only cure is a bit of rest but maybe the injections might clear it up. The specialist thinks it will clear up but it will need 10 days' rest afterwards." Roy Hodgson will
now have to look at his alternatives for the midfield role and it is likely that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gareth-Barry-c14423 will return to the starting line up after his woeful performances at the FIFA 2010 World Cup, a tournament where he was one of the weakest links in the England setup.
