Harry Redknapp who recently declined to take over at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 national team by opting to stay at Tottenham Hotspur as their manager has revealed that his team are not guaranteed to play UEFA Champions League football next season.
If Chelsea win the UEFA Champions League final against Bayern Munich, then the Blues will be granted access to the European Cup next season in place of the fourth placed team in the Premier League standings.
As things stand, Tottenham are fourth but they have to fend off competition in the league table from the likes of Newcastle United as well as Chelsea who are vying to finish fourth. Redknapp’s team were title contenders at one
stage of the season but those days are far behind them now as their recent form has been patchy at certain times.
Redknapp said, "You can't predict results. Manchester United had an eight-point lead after [Manchester] City got beat at Arsenal. You thought that was the end of them, you thought it was all over. You just can't tell. You look
at Wigan's games and they had no chance [of avoiding relegation]. They had to go to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429, play United, Newcastle, five of the top six, and they go on this incredible run. You just can't predict results. You never know. You just have
to keep going.”
He added, "That's all we can do. We've got two tough away games this week and then a tough home game against Fulham to finish with. That's three hard games. Newcastle have three tough games, for sure. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 might have the best
fixtures. We have to keep going and if we play well, we can do it [third]."
