Harry Redknapp says http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gareth-Bale-c14422 will face AC Milan at White Hart Lane
Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp is looking forward to playing Gareth Bale against AC Milan in the UEFA Champions League in the first week of March 2011.
“I'm really looking forward to it. Hopefully we'll have Bale back, and him and Lennon have got such pace. I'm sure they will come back at us, but it was a fantastic night,” stated the manager.
Bale was ruled out of the first leg of the delicious tie between the Italian Giants and Spurs, which Redknapp’s men won 1-0 through a http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Aaron-Lennon-c3062, who beat two defenders
before laying it for Crouch to finish it off.
Spurs were without the services of their star players http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Luka-Modric-c22857 and Gareth Bale. The Welsh had a back concern but the manager believes that the 21-year-old would be available by the time Milan travel to White Hart Lane.
AC Milan now have a mountain to climb in order to book a place into the quarter-finals of the Champions League. They would have to score at least twice at White Hart Lane in order to win the fixture. That is easier said than done as Spurs have lost just
once at home in all competitions and play daunting football there. They were able to tame Manchester United, who were lucky to escape with a 0-0 draw, despite Tottenham playing the better game. Spurs have thrashed three goals to each of their oppositions in
group stages of the tournament.
In order to counter the Spurs, AC Milan would have to control the pace of Lennon and Bale and the towering presence of Peter Crouch.
Lennon and Crouch troubled Milan throughout the 90 minutes and that is something the Rossoneri would have to consider in the return leg. Bale thwarted Milan’s defence almost at will and managed to thrash three quick goals in a span of six minutes.
