Spurs boss, Harry Redknapp, has stated that Liverpool’s fight for Champions League spot is over and now the tussle is only between the Spurs and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786. He spoke on the wake of Liverpool’s loss to relegation battling West Ham United which gives Spurs, eight
points advantage over the Reds with one game being played less than the Reds.
Current leaders Manchester United are looking good to win the title for the record nineteenth time and get past Liverpool, who have eighteen titles in the bag so far. On the other hand, the current champions, Chelsea, are struggling in fourth spot with a
twelve point’s difference between them and the leaders. Because of this, Carlo Ancelotti’s side is forced to fight for the illusive UEFA Champions League spot with Tottenham Hotspur, who are fifth in the League table and only a point behind the Blues.
"The top five now will be the top five at the end of the season for sure," Redknapp is quoted as saying.
Tottenham qualified for the Champions League during the last 2009-10 season and their campaign is still on the go with a first leg win over the current Serie A leaders, AC Milan, in the round of 16, when the North London side travelled to Stadio Giuseppe
Meazza on Tuesday, the 15 of February, 2011.
Redknapp has stressed upon the fact that Spurs would have to get their acts together and maintain their concentration levels as the season is approaching towards its business end.
"With Liverpool losing, it is five teams looking for Champions League football next year. It is so important for us and we want to get it again." Redknapp further added.
Tottenham are currently fifth in the Premier League and will travel to Molineux on Sunday, the 6 of March to take on Wolverhampton Wanderers in a Premier League game before hosting AC Milan in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League round of 16 on Wednesday,
the 9 of March. With eleven games remaining in the league for Spurs, there is a fierce battle expected between Chelsea and Tottenham for the final Champions League spot.
