Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has revealed he refuses to let the strange and unexpected sacking affect him negatively.
Rumours on the internet claimed Redknapp had resigned, but the English manager denied the reports. It was just a day later that the club confirmed that the 65-year-old had indeed parted ways with the London club. There are no reports on a replacement as
yet.
However, Redknapp refused to let the sacking sour his memories at White Hart Lane. According to the Englishman, he had a brilliant time with the Spurs and had no regrets of his time with them. He felt that while the sacking was strange and unexpected, he
would not let it affect him too much.
Redknapp said in an interview:
“I won't slit my throat over it. I want to get on with my life instead of moping about getting the sack. I loved every minute of my time at Spurs and I've no regrets whatsoever. I don't feel bitter, nor regretful, there's no confusion or anger.”
The former Portsmouth boss believed that the hierarchy at the club did not like him, which was why they had decided to sack him. It is true that there was some tension brewing between Redknapp and club chairman http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-c9879 Levy.
It was not, however, expected that Levy would eventually end up sacking Redknapp since the English manager had done well after taking charge of the club in 2008. Redknapp believed the root cause of his sudden sacking was the fact that the higher ups at the
club did not like him.
He continued:
“When people at the top don't like you, what can you do about it? I have to respect it. I can't do anything about that.”
Not for one minute did Redknapp believe that he was sacked for the Spurs’ performance in the 2011-2012 season, as they had finished at fourth place. He felt he had led the club to a decent finish and it was surprising that he was sacked at the end of it.
Redknapp revealed:
“These are strange, unexpected circumstances to be leaving now. We did a good http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684. If someone had offered me fourth place before the season started, I'd have taken it.”
