  1. Gutted. Absolutely gutted. Am a card carrying Potterholic and was gutted at the end. Am re-reading the books (again) but still can't quite belive that the series has finished. It's like I've lost a friend.

I don't think that you are sad at all.

I can't wait for Tales of Beedle the Bard to come out - I have my copy pre-ordered.

  2. i finished reading the last one a year or so ago and i must admit when i did finish the book i had a horrible empty feeling. The books were simply amazing, and although the films are good they are not as good as the books. The world that j,k,rowling created has so much scope for more stories and many more books. I hope she changes her mind about not writing anymore books about harry, i can see that harry's story has now closed but there is so much more she could do regarding the wonderful world that she has created!!!!

  3. i no, i am so sad they finished it like thereis nothing else as good to read...

  4. I did.

    For a few weeks.

Because the Harry Potter series was so magical I got lost in it every time.

I've read each book about 5 times, seriously :L

But now i'm over it (: It was only fiction after all.

  5. I felt like the books went a away and they would never give me something new to read again, so I would just have to reread the same books over and over again. The movies make me feel a little bit better,

  6. No, you are not crazy, I felt the same way

  7. Yes, I agree 100% with you. J.K. Rowling has really made me feel like the characters are real.

I felt really upset that the books were over so quickly (I joined the fandom 2 years ago) and I really wished that I joined it sooner. I really wish that J.K. Rowling would write more books :)

  8. I am 44 years old and have read all the books repeatedly; I miss them too! Its like saying goodbye to dear friend; knowing you won't see them again. I hope JK Rowling will have mercy on us and write pre-quels. I read the last book, in about 2 1/2 hours. Did not stop, don't think I breathed!!!!!

  9. No, you are not crazy, I felt the same way, but I got over it. Now I feel that way with Twilight.. Just wait for a while or find a new book.

  10. Omg! i feel the same way! I MISS HARRY POTTER :(

  11. I felt that way a little with Harry Potter, but much more so with Lord of the Rings.

  12. It does sound pretty sad, I wasnt like that when I finished the books and neither was anyone else I know.

  13. hahah yeah i was like that too :)

i've only read each book twice, but the seventh once, so a month ago, i'm like, why not read it again? so i pick it up and realized i had forgotten almost EVERYTHING. i did not know what was going to happen next, it was full of suspense. it was like i had never finished the series. i was like... "whoa... they're back!" and i almost cried lol. :)

  14. No, you aren't the only one. I've been a fan since the fifth grade, and I just graduated from high school in June. I miss Harry and his friends (and enemies) with all my heart. I love the series. I own 5 out of the 7 books and I plan on buying all the others she's written and anything she writes in the future. All of my sisters and cousins miss them too. We waited a month for the 7th book from the library, I think we were number 193 on the waiting list :)

I know what you mean about being obsessed with reading them. When we finally got the last book, I stayed up until 4 in the morning just to finish it, and I cried so much. Especially over Dobby, and even over Regulus.

    Harry Potter!!

  15. I didn't feel that way finishing H.P. although I loved them while I was reading them but I am definitely familiar with that sort of post-book depression it has happened to me so many more times than I can tell you as I am an avid reader. I often totally lose interest in books for a month or more, lost in deep literary mourning. Eventually, however, you find a new book or series that is thrilling and delightful and captures your imagination again.

  16. I felt sad when I finished. I mean, I got up at six in the morning to buy the last book when it came out. Now what am I supposed to get up for at that ridiculous time for? Er, nothing.

I've loved Harry Potter since I was like, nine and I've grown up with it, so it's always going to be a favorite.

I've lost count the amount of times I reread the books. I don't feel sad anymore though. I've found other books I think are just as good.

  17. No...you're not alone. I miss them too! Beadle the Bard isn't quite the same, and the films are just a temporary fix.

    Sob...sob...

I'm reading Gormanghast at the moment. It's absorbing, but not as pacey and fun as HP.

  18. You aren't the only one.

It did and does make me sad that the books are over. I am seriously obsessed. I do miss the characters. I can't stop myself from reading at least half of any Harry Potter book a day. Even though I have already read them like 10 times.

It saddens me that the adventures are over, that there's no more Voldemort. I know, that sounds insane, by how much devastation he's caused, but that also means no more interesting chapters, or journeys to unknown lands...*sigh*

I also feel the same way with Twilight. Even though Breaking Dawn just came out, it is still saddening to re-read them, because there aren't any more books; no more adventures. I am completely obsessed with Twilight and Harry Potter. It makes me so sad. *sniff* *sniff*

  19. I felt a bit like that after I finished the last book (which I finished in less than a day which I was pleased with, lol).

For a breif period after finishing it I felt bored and like my live was boring and wasnt as exciting as in my book. I was jealous and dissapointed that all the characters had great friendships and exciting lives. I only felt like it for an hour or 2.

lol, sounds very sad now I think about it.
