Hart Returns to Training Early
Joe Hart has cut his break short and returned to training early in a bid to become Manchester City's number one by the start of the season.
Hart is one of the most exciting goalkeepers in the global game and he impressed a lot of people last season when he played consistently well for Birmingham City. He also went to the World Cup as a reserve goalkeeper with England.
Hart has not been able to get in the first team at Manchester City because of the fact the club signed Shay Given a few seasons ago. This meant that Hart's career had to be put on hold while the club loaned him out and played a more experienced goalkeeper.
He seems to be chomping at the bit ahead of what is set to be a very exciting season for Manchester City. He has a great deal that he can put in to the side and it's refreshing to see one of the club's youth prospects making it at a club filled with stars.
Determination
Not many people would have blamed Hart if he had wanted to move from Manchester City when the club signed Shay Given. A lot of people said it was a bad move by the club and one that would cost them a good player.
Hart said himself that he was very disappointed when Given arrived that the club did not show more faith in his ability. However, he has gone away, worked hard and now looks as though he will start in the City team ahead of Given next season.
He said: "They were asking me to come a little bit earlier, but I thought I needed a little bit more time. I wasn't playing in South Africa, but it was still a long, old season with it being combined with what went before. But after a couple of weeks, I feel fine now."
Refreshing
Anyone who follows the Premier League will know that Manchester City have ruffled a few feathers due to the behaviour of their new owners. These owners have injected huge amounts of money in to the club and they have bought a squad capable of challenging at the highest level of football.
This has made it very difficult for younger players and youth prospects to get in the team. The likes of Stephen Ireland have fallen out of favour at the club and Danny Sturridge signed a contract with Chelsea long ago.
Therefore, it is very refreshing to see one of the club's old youth players about to take his place with some of the best players in football. This proves that there is still space and opportunity to make it in football despite the funds now floating around.
Hart added: "I just enjoy playing, it's what I love doing. I've been so keen to come back, kick balls, have fun and be involved in football again. I just want to play and we'll just see how that one works out. I think Shay is fine. I think he will definitely be fit for the start of the season. We will both have to see how it pans out, but it's not really up to me."
Advice
Manchester City are blessed in so many areas of their team but goalkeeper is still a vital position. With Hart in the side, City will have someone who is reliable and developing all of the time. He is the main reason that Birmingham kept so many clean sheets last season and there is no reason why City can't do the same this year. He makes City a much more appealing side to back in any game.
