Hart boys volleyball team defeats Canyon by 3-0 on Tuesday
The Hart boys volleyball team had a great Tuesday despite the fact that one of its players was not on the top of his game.
They were still able to gain dominance on the court as Canyon was swept away by a near brutal 3-0 victory of Hart.
Hart was able to prove its merit as a team by winning three back-to-back sets without the support of its top hitters. Not only that, the win was achieved after contesting their opponents in their home ground at Canyon High. By the time Hart had sealed the
deal on Canyon and were celebrating their well-deserved win, the scoreboard told the story of the match by displaying the following final set scores, 25-16, 25-22 and 25-18.
With their recent win, Hart has improved its number of regular season wins to a number of 22. They have been able to accomplish these victories at a commendably low cost of undergoing six losses in all. The record of their league play is also impressive.
The number of times Hart has been able to secure themselves a victory in league matches amount to be six. They have been able to register these wins at the expense of incurring just one loss.
As compared to the performance statistics of Hart, that of Canyon turns pale. They have not been able to earn more wins than defeats both in their regular season as well as league play. The number of times that Hart has secured itself victories in the regular
season amount to be five. They have been able to scrap these wins at while undergoing nine losses in all. In league play, Canyon has not been able to register a single win yet. However, they have bagged themselves a total number of seven losses so far.
Despite playing in their home ground, Canyon could not muster enough motivation in the first set of the match to give Hart a significant challenge. As soon as the first set started, Hart was able to take the lead and stay in control. Against a well-synchronized
effort of Hart, there was not much that Canyon could do. As a result, Hart secured itself an easy victory by winning the first set of the match at 25-16.
It was in the second game that Canyon was able to give Hart some competition as they kept the score close. However, they still lost to Hart at 22-25. The third set of the match became the final one as Hart took it at 25-18.
After having won the match, Sia Irilian, who is the co-head coach of the Hart team made the following comments, “We normally feed the beast. We feed the guy who's hot. No matter who you're playing, if your own team doesn't have intensity, you're not going
to get it done.”
