The Manchester City goalkeeper has admitted that his side was way below par in the second half of the current campaign
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Joe-Hart-c18699 has admitted that his side has performed below expectations throughout the course of the season. The goalkeeper stressed that the team started the season well but lost their way in December and failed to get the form after
that.
The shot stopper stated that the team has been inconsistent throughout the second-half of the season and there is a good reason for the fans to worry. He added that the fans expected the team to be better than the last season and
wanted the side to give Manchester United some tough competition for the title, which was not the case.
Hart commented on the recent 3-1 loss at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane. He insisted that Spurs have been playing well and they thoroughly deserved the three points.
“We took the lead and didn't kick on from there. Second half we just kind of existed and paid the price. I just thought we took our foot off the gas and you can't do that. Spurs have got a lot to play for and congratulations to
them but I'm not really interested in them,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The 26-year-old admitted that his side has to perform well in Europe. The club has been knocked out of the UEFA Champions League in the group stage in the last two seasons. He added that the players should be more consistent in
the next season to perform better in European competitions. However, the player is looking forward to the FA Cup final against Wigan Athletic next month.
“We messed up in Europe and we have had plenty of weeks rest so I don't think that is what it is down to. It was just a poor second half. It is always good to win at home and we have got the FA Cup final that all the boys are trying
to win their spots for,” he concluded.
Manchester City will next face West Ham in their next Premier League game.
