England’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Joe-Hart-c18699 has admitted that he is ready to step up to the plate and feels that he will be able to deliver, should any of England’s matches head into penalty shoot outs.
Over the course of the last forty years or so, England have almost always gone on to choke in a penalty shootout. In fact, just about everyone expects the team to lose, should their match head into the shootout.
However, this time around things might be different for the team, as Hart has revealed that he is willing to accept the responsibility to stop shots and feels that he would be more than willing to step up and take a spot kick, should that be required.
When talking about the shootout and the possibility of him taking a spot kick, Hart is quoted to have said: "If they let me, I would put my name forward 100%."
Hart added: "Hopefully it won't come to that (taking penalties) but I would back myself (to take a penalty) in a tournament.”
"If penalties are required then so be it."
He then went on to reveal that he had been consistently practicing penalties with the rest of the squad and revealed that he had always wanted to take them.
When talking about how much he practiced and his interest in taking penalties, the Manchester City keeper added: "As much as anyone else, I do like to take my penalties."
The shot stopper then went on to admit that he was not going to leave anything to chance in the game against Italy and would actually take time to watch videos of all their penalty takers. This way he would have an idea on just what they might do and where they might place their shots.
"I do my research, I know where all the Italian players put their penalties," he said.
"I watch it (the video) on my own. I watch it quite late in the day."
It is now a wait to see just how http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 and if their game ends up going into a penalty shootout or not.
