Hart still doesn’t feel like he belongs at City
Manchester City’s ace shot stopper and first choice goal keeper, Joe Hart claims that despite being in the England and Manchester City side, as the team’s first choice keeper, he just doesn’t feel like he is established enough yet.
The young keeper went onto say this, despite having taken over from Shay Given at the Eastlands and cementing a spot in the starting eleven. The twenty three year old has also gone on to start in all the seven Premier League matches that Manchester City
have played so far.
In fact the keeper has been performing so well with City, that he has gone on to become the new number one for the England national team. The keeper has been starting as the national sides keeper, for the last three games under Fabio Capello and the manager
says, that he intends to use Hart for as long as humanly possible.
Despite all of that, the keeper who joined Manchester City in 2006, claims that he fears that he could lose his spot in both the sides at any moment and hence feels like he needs to be giving his best, week in and week out just to maintain his spot in both
the teams.
In a recent interview, Hart was reported to have said:"I don't feel established at all yet.
"I still feel quite new to City, even though I've been here a long time."
"I class myself as new and I'm also new to the England scene, so I've got an awful lot of work to do to try and nail down a place."
Hart then went on to mention how, there was no personal grudge between him and Shay Given and said that they both were aware that it was ultimately the managers decision to decide who got to play and who didn’t
He added: "It was totally cool. We both felt it wasn't down to me doing anything to him or him doing anything to me."
"It was all down to the manager."
Despite Hart underestimating himself, to a great potential, there is still some good news that can be derived from the players comments. Hart has clearly indicated that he feels rather threatened and that he needs to put on better performances in the weeks
to come. This means that Hart will be playing, even better then he already is. Which in itself would be nothing short of a viewing spectacle.
Hart so far has been the best keeper in the Premier League, stopping shots for fun and leaving the opposition attackers feeling rather frustrated. He has so far been beaten thanks to some defensive errors by his team mates, or to goals that were deflected
in, Hart in simple words has been unbeatable and unstoppable so far this season.
He is almost guaranteed to go down as the best keeper in the League, however if he manages to up his performances even more, then he might just be in contention to being the best goal keeper in the world at the moment. That is something that would act as
a major boost to the player and his club.
With City currently sitting in the second spot in the Premier League and Hart looking to go all out once the league re starts, they just might do the unthinkable and climb to the top of the table.
