Manchester City’s shot stopper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Joe-Hart-c18699 has gone on to urge his team to not let the point they secured against Borussia Dortmund go to waste, given the manner in which it was achieved.
City went on to face a flurry of attacks from their German opponents in the game, which eventually saw them trail by one goal to nil.
However, late on in the game, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Neven-Subotic-c27632 went on to handle the ball in the area, which resulted in the referee awarding City a penalty.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mario-Balotelli-c23937 stepped up to take the spot kick and even though there was immense pressure on the striker’s shoulders, he went on to calmly place the ball into the back of the net.
That goal from Balotelli helped City draw the game, and salvage one point. This one point has snow given the team hope of qualification to the next round, which many previously felt was impossible for the team to achieve.
When talking about the Balotelli goal, and how he wishes it not to go to waste, Hart is reported to have said: "I hope it's important, I hope it wasn't a wasted effort.
"I hope the effort we've made in both Champions League games hasn't been wasted, we're focused on qualifying from this group. But, as you can see, for the [lowest-seeded] team, it shows what a group we're in.”
"We've got to be happy with the point. I think it could have been 10-10, I thought their keeper was fantastic and they had a lot of chances.”
When talking about Balotelli, and the incident that led to the spot kick being awarded, the keeper went on to add: "You know Mario is never going to miss that penalty.”
"I don’t know, I've not seen it if it was a penalty, but I think we pushed hard and we wanted the point in the end. We can't deny that.”
Nonetheless, City now need to focus on their coming Champions League fixtures, since any more slip ups or poor performances could end up resulting in them crashing out of the contest during the group stages, once again.
