Hartside to run a big race in Gowran Park Golf Membership From 749 Euros 3-Y-O Hurdle
Hartside is facing several dangerous opponents, including the Willie Mullins-trained, Dougal Philps. Nevertheless, the 3-year-old’s prospects look fairly obvious, because his present form is way better than the rest.
Hence, one can easily expect him to run a big race in Gowran Park Golf Membership From 749 Euros 3-Y-O Hurdle, taking place at Gowran Park on Thursday, December 13, 2012.
By bagging three straight wins in August, the bay gelding gathered great admiration. After winning August Festival Centenary Handicap on Tramore’s heavy surface, the skilful horse went to Wexford, where he crushed the opposition comfortably in the Rosslare Handicap.
The son of Montjeu completed his hat-trick at Ballinrobe, thumping Marlos Moment by a neck’s distance in the McWilliam Park Hotel Claremorris Handicap. The Gestut Ammerland-bred is making his first journey under the care of new trainer, Noel Meade, whose yard is in good form at the moment.
Although there is more than one dangerous runner in the pack, Hartside should not be taken lightly. He is going to face 11 rivals over a distance of two miles. The going is soft - something Hartside handles well. The €8,970-for-winner is scheduled to start at 12:35 GMT.
Dougal Philps has shown true colours on the expected testing ground before, looking good to go again. Ahead of finishing fourth at Listowel in September, the 3-year-old won a competitive race at Ballinrobe. The son of Echo Of Light surely has a big role to play.
Another runner with fair chances is Bayan. His form is decent at the moment, and the betting market is reflecting good chances. Prior to his third position at Ffos Las, the Gordon Elliott-trained secured the second rank twice.
Besides these three, no one is making any appeal. Hello Humpfrey has nothing to inspire confidence, and the safe way is to exclude the Peter Casey-trained from the calculations.
Pacelli Road seems in fairly good shape. The D. K. Weld-trained is likely to run well without quite being good enough. Faanan Aldaar is returning to the ring after a long while, thus a few others are preferred. We wish the best of luck to all the contestants.
