Harvest Moon DS Cute- giving items?

I asked this the other day but I only got a brief response, so I am still unsure...

When you're giving an item to a villager, is it possible to give him/her a single one and keep the rest of the same item in your inventory? If I have 2 bottles of wine for example, the same person tends to take both of them at once... It's frustrating having to run back to buy another bottle for someone else before the shop is closed for the day.

The answerer said to store them in a cabinet. If that's the case, how do I get a cabinet?

If you tap on the item duplicate, one should seperate itself and reside in your rucksack, and you can give the person that one. As for the cabinet (or fridge for food items), you can get it from the Sprite Shopping Channel, on of those missing channels on the Sprite Station. That can be unlocked by buying an item from Karen's Supermarket (over the phone in your house) for ten days.
