Harvest moon ds: getting rid of the billion gold glitch

Question

i have no idea what i did to get it, but i have a maximum amount of gold. i tried spending it all randomly, but it seems to regenerate the next day. i really don't want to ruin my game, and i dont' want to start all over. does anybody know how to get rid of this cheat? i saved before i even noticed it was there :(

It's not a cheat... It's a bug.  Unfortunately if you've meet the triggering condition I'm not aware of how to get rid of it.  (I'll admit I haven't heard of the money regenerating.)

To burn the money off most effectively, get a wood or stone shack and buy wood or stone from the store.  Then SHIP that material for a net lose.  Keep that up long enough and you will run out of money.
