At stumps on the third day of play between Haryana and Baroda, Haryana - after clobbering 127 in their second innings - lead by 98 runs with 8 wickets in hand, at Bansi Lal Cricket Stadium, Rohtak.
After Haryana had amassed 295 in their first innings, it was imperative for Baroda to score big and they managed to succeed by smashing 197 for three at stumps on the second day.
They now required a productive penultimate day in order to pose some sort of pressure on their opposition and prevent the game from ending without a result.
With SP Wakaskar on a fabulous century, RK Solanki came out for Baroda, but the day was disastrous for them as without the addition of a run, the batting side lost SP Wakaskar.
Solanki was then joined by skipper, AT Rayudu and before the bowlers could mould a formidable strategy against the batting pair, the Baroda skipper launched a blatant attack, hammering the bowlers out of town while being supported by Solanki from the other end.
The partnership took the score to 235 before Solanki, who had contributed only 11 runs in this fruitful partnership, perished on a leg before decision.
With Mishra going strong after taking four wickets, the batting side looked helpless against him.
Rayudu, who had jabbed a staggering knock of 54 off just 68 was the next man to find his way back to the pavilion after getting trapped in front of stumps off Yadav. The skipper left his side sitting on 269.
From here on in it was chaos for Baroda as they kept losing wickets against some superb bowling from the opposition. This was the moment in the match when Haryana made a strong comeback.
Consequently, Baroda crumbled after posting 324 on the board in their first innings.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/A-Mishra-c871 ended with five wickets to his name backed by MM Sharma for four.
Haryana had a decent start to their second innings, putting 32 before losing their first wicket; they then lost their second batsman with 33 runs on the board.
Sunny Singh and AA Khod then stayed unbeaten on 56 and 38 to help their side end the day with 127 on the board.
