I was wondering because the 4th seal in Revelation mentions it. I was just trying to figure out if it had happened yet.

So, yes, I was referring to Scripture.

  1. To expand upon Yankee Sailor's post that our genes have been narrowed to a handful of individuals, in effect a few tribes, it's possible that prior to our historical record there have been cosmic events (meteor impacts, etc, not apocalyptic religious events, though they'd be remembered that way) causing cataclysms which could have annihilated vast regions and destroyed a high percentage of human life and culture.

  2. yeah the bubonic plague killed most of europe which translated to 1/4 of the genrel pop of the world

  3. (Not 25% dead but many dead and the rest very ill)

The pandemic affected everyone. With one-quarter of the US and one-fifth of the world infected with the influenza, it was impossible to escape from the illness.

    The Influenza Pandemic of 1918

The influenza pandemic of 1918-1919 killed more people than the Great War, known today as World War I (WWI), at somewhere between 20 and 40 million people.

It has been cited as the most devastating epidemic in recorded world history.

More people died of influenza in a single year than in four-years of the Black Death Bubonic Plague from 1347 to 1351.

Known as "Spanish Flu" or "La Grippe" the influenza of 1918-1919 was a global disaster.

  4. Glow Wings, I don't think the person asking the question was talking about things that happened in books. They were asking about reality.

  5.       I don't know about 1/4th. but, the Black plague of the early years took many people. Then the flu epidemic of the early 1900's took about one in four people. I don't know if I recall the population density to the deaths were ever figured out.

  6. No, but it will when the antichrist arrives

  7. a number of geneticists believe that at one point the human race was down to 55 females and we are all descendants of those 55.....go look it up

  8. Noah's Ark?  or

    Sodom and Gomorrah?

  9. Before anyone could possibly answer this question in a rational manner they would have to know how many people were alive on earth at a given time. So, how could anyone possibly give you a remotely accurate answer to this question? We don't even know exactly how many mexicans live here, illegally, in the U.S. AND THIS IS OUR COUNTRY! So, how the h**l is anyone gonna know how many people live in a country the size of China. That question I have to say is impossible to answer accurately!!!
