  1. try to give at least some notice and yeah you go back for your paycheck.

  2. They mail the check.  It's just not the position for you.  A friend just went to lunch after getting her check and never went back.  48 states are "at will" employment states so you don't even have to give a reason.

  3. I've always given notice at jobs, but yes, you are entitled to your paycheck, so you should go back and ask for it.

  4. I just called and told them to send my check.  It's illegal for them to keep your money.

  5. I have after 2 weeks.

I moved to this TV station in north florida as a assistant producer for the stations local news. After much work, there was a possition open as a gayfer and as luck had it my current girlfriend won the possition from the network she worked for.  We had always strived to keep work from pleasure and had no problem with that. One morning I had to be in earlier than usual so we drove seperate cars. I had been in my office (isolation chamber) up until 1hr before airtime. I made my way to the switchboard room and as I rounded the corner I heard a low female voice say "back off right now" followed by my bosses low monotone "...and if i dont? Money could get tight around the house ya know." Being raised to know if you hurt a female that you get your face rearranged I  rounded the corner to find my girlfriend pressed agiast the back wall by the scumbag. Before I could control myself, things turned ugly. We left that day in the middle of the morning news segment with our pride in tow and my black eye. He left with bruised ribs, bloody nose, black eye, and his front teeth in a zippy bag.  I returned the next day to get our things and to cut our last chacks, but before I left I placed a call to his wife to explaint to her the story and that if she still wanted to be with this 'boy' to search for a good lawyer.

  6. lol datz fnny

  7. ive quit a job after 1 shift, i emailed them with my mailing adress and told them to send it to me

  8. I left a casio once after three hours, and yes I did go back for my pay check, he wasn't pleased but relieved when he found out I was underage and he paid up. If you don't like the job best to get out, and if you have worked you are entitled to your money. My boyfriends sister took my job the next night so it all eneded well. Things normally do. Good luck! x

  9. Most employers are at-will, which means they can fire you or you can quit at any time. You tell them the position is not a right fit after all and that you will not be coming back. Ask them to send your final paycheck to your home address. Not rocket science...

  10. Well I worked somewhere for about 2 weeks and hated it. I called the boss one day saying that I was done working there. He asked me if I could work for a few more days and I said no haha So basically I was leaving them hanging but I felt SO good about it! I thought they were going to mail my last paycheck but when I didn't get it for a few weeks, I called them and picked it up.

  11. I left a vet's office after 2 days with no notice because the some of the techs were very rude to me (I was hired as the kennel tech which is a fancy way of saying "pooper scooper") and one of the doctors made a snarky remark about my unused art degree. I can't work with rude people. They called me and I told them it wasn't going to work out and didn't talk to anybody when I went in to get my check.

  12. I've done that but only at a waitress job I had in college that didn't mean a whole lot to me. Most of my wages were tips so I didn't worry too much about the paycheck I never went back. They will legally have to get you your paycheck somehow eventually whether they turn it over to the state who pays it to you or they will just mail it to you. I never even went back there to eat. I was embarrassed because I'm sure when I 'no showed' that night I put a lot of people through h**l because they were missing a person and It was probably busy. I felt bad.

  13. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

wow whyd you apply in the first place.

no i havent but im gonna assume you have another job that you left this job for? if so just striaght up tell the old boss that you are leaving because you got the job that you wanted in the first place and it be great if i could just have my pay check and be on my way. thanks! or if thats not the case just straight up say this isnt what i expected. or i have family problems right now. could i have my payment and be off? lol

im pretty sure its against the law to deny payment for hours youve worked. so although he probably/most likely/ will be NOT a good reference for future jobs. you will get your payment.

  14. I called that motherfu$%ka, and told him, "Pay up, *****!! Time is money, and I'm owed!"

    "No, I ain't playin!"

"No, I'm not gonna drive down there, and waste gas on your ***! I'm busy, thank you very much!"

"What? No, you gonna mail that ****, today, or else!"

"You want my brother, the bouncer, or Tina, the Court Clerk. Either way, I'm collecting on your ***!"

"And... you already know this! - MAIL IT, *****!!!"

So, that sh%7t worked for me. It'll probalby work for you. You just got to be tough with the man.

  15. Yes I have after 2 days and didn't feel like seeing them again for the check,  boss just said they understood, you can have them mail your check just e-mail the boss or leave a recording on their phone after they leave

  16. Yes, after all if it isn't working out, then it isn't working out.

If you are in California, they are required by law to pay you for the hours you worked.  Secondly, they can't reduce your pay for not giving notice.

Finally, my suggestion is to leave this job off your resume.
